Thank you, St Luke's!
Each year we as a church give 5% of the previous year's income from Planned Giving, Tax Refund, and Collections at Services to charity, supplemented by the monthly retiring collections at the main 10:00am service, which in 2018 amounted to £4,500
In addition we hold additional collections at Christmas and other times, sending the proceeds to charity.
On this page are some of the "thank you" letters and emails we have received.
On
behalf of the Trustees of the Street Angels I most warmly thank the
congregation of St Luke’s Parish Church for supporting our work by the
donation of £225.00.
All the Street Angels are active Christians
in our community. If you produce a parish magazine or similar, we would
be delighted if you would accept an article on the work of the Street
Angels. We are also encouraging churches to periodically include the
Street Angels in their intercessions. If is a source of encouragement to
know that fellow Christians are supporting our work by prayer and
financial gifts.
Many thanks.

On behalf of Friends of the Anglican Church in
Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, I should like to thank the congregation
of St Lukes for the amount of £722.75 which you so generously gave
towards the work of the church in Ethiopia.
It is truly wonderful
to have your support particularly as needs in Ethiopia continue to grow,
not least with the escalating violence in South Sudan which impacts on
the local population in every way. Your donation is greatly appreciated
and will be used not only to improve the lives of people in need, but
also to spread the Christian faith by the training of priests at our
college in Gambella, which we are able to support with the donations we
receive from people like yourselves. This is vital work.
With our
very best wishes

FACE
Thank you so much for the cheque of £225.00 dated
31st December 2018 from the congregation of St Luke's Parish Church,
Maidenhead. We are so grateful for your support for our work.
Donations like yours mean we can continue the valuable work that we do,
giving much needed help and support to vulnerable refugee children. In
2018, we helped hundreds of children reunite with family, as well as
putting pressure on the government to ensure that many more children can
access safe and legal routes to protection. We achieved some major
breakthroughs including securing a commitment to ensure that the Family
Reunion route from Europe to the UK remains open after Brexit. As a
result of what we have achieved, we are about to become an independent
charity and, with your support, we hope to be able to help even more
vulnerable children in 2019.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated
and will certainly make a huge difference to the lives of the children
and families we reunite.
Thank you and our friends at St Luke’s Maidenhead for the generous way
you are supporting our ministry in prisons across England and Wales
through your recent gift of £225.00 towards Sycamore Tree.
Your
donation makes our programmes possible, helping us reach more prisoners
and their families each year.
Last financial year alone, 4,571
Angel Tree gifts were delivered at Christmas, 313 prisoners were writing
to PF volunteers, 2,271 learners took part in our Sycamore Tree course,
and 68 prisons received chaplaincy support from PF volunteers. An
ex-offender who benefitted from our Angel Tree programme while in prison
recently affirmed:
“Angel Tree began such a process of radical
transformation in my life because I realised that someone not only
believed in me, but they believed in the future of my family.”
Your support of our work fosters this transformation, and your generous
contribution is invaluable to us and the thousands of lives we are
positively impacting.
On behalf of each of them, we thank you
once again for supporting our vision – it is wonderful to have you as
part of our team!
I am writing to thank the congregation of St Luke's Parish Church for
your generous donation of £225 for Buckinghamshire Mind.
Buckinghamshire Mind is extremely grateful to your congregation for
their continued support. Every penny you donate will help to make sure
people with a mental health problem have somewhere to turn.
As
you know, Buckinghamshire Mind supports and represents people with
mental health problems living across the county. We bring focused mental
health expertise to our partnerships and the services we provide. We
work with people in their communities. We believe in supporting people
to live the lives they want, as fully as possible.
We will not
give up until everyone in the county with a mental health problem gets
both support and respect.
This work relies on people like the
congregation of St Luke's Parish Church, who give their time, money,
energy and passion to make sure that Buckinghamshire Mind can be there
for everyone who needs us. Your contribution really will make a
difference to people's lives.
Thank you very much indeed for choosing to
support Family Friends at St Luke’s Parish Church. We are extremely
grateful for the donation of £225.00 which arrived this morning, and
hope that you will pass on our thanks to all at the Church.
As a
small charity, we rely on grant funding and donations from our local
community to provide our services. Your generosity enables us to
continue to provide practical and emotional support to families across
the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead who are facing difficult
times, just as we have for the last 23 years.
Thank you so much for your kind gift of £225.00.
Your donation will help us to make a real difference to the lives of
homeless and socially excluded men and women.
The Emmaus approach
is different from other homelessness charities, offering more than just
a bed for the night and a hot meal. Instead, we offer a home for as long
as someone needs it and meaningful work within our social enterprises.
This combination of stability, purpose and support helps people get
their lives back on track. Currently, there are 29 Emmaus communities
around the UK providing places for over 750 previously homeless people,
known as companions.
We are continuing to experience increasing
demand for our services, as more and more people face vulnerable housing
situations. To address this, we’ve set ourselves the challenge of
increasing the number of places we offer to at least 1000 by 2020. This
will only be possible thanks to the support we receive from people like
you.
Thank you once again for supporting Emmaus UK.
Just to acknowledge and also to extend our thanks
for your generous donation on behalf of St Luke’s Church. It really does
make a difference to all of the local families we are supporting.
With kind regards on behalf of The Dash Charity

Children’s Hospice Service, I am writing to thank you very much for your
wonderful donation of £516.25 following the Carol
Service at St Luke’s Church, Maidenhead. We are thrilled that you chose
to support our local children’s hospice with this special occasion.
Attendees to the service were clearly very kind and generous, please
extend our sincere thanks to all who donated. You really all are making
such a difference to local children with life limiting and life
threatening conditions. I hope you had a very enjoyable Christmas and
that your new year is off to a very good start.
2018 was an
amazing time for our charity, with our Care Quality Commission approval
enabling us to open the hospice to the children who we care for and
their families. We are delighted to have already welcomed children for
over 100 visits. Whilst this is a tremendous milestone in the charity
history and a time for celebration it is only the beginning and now the
funding becomes even more crucial to ensure we continue to sustain and
grow the services we provide and reach out to more of the 600 children
across Berkshire and others in neighbouring counties that could benefit
from our service. We celebrated all of this with our grand opening at
the end of December, and were honoured that two of our patrons, Sir
Michael Parkinson and Theresa May joined us to cut the ribbon and
declare the hospice officially open!
We are looking forward to
continuing our vital work in 2019, when will be furthering our
fundraising to work towards opening our overnight beds, and growing our
community and day-care services.
Your support makes a huge
difference and we thank you so much for being a part of our journey.
Many thanks for your generous donation of £225.00
please extend our gratitude to your congregation.
We continue to
work hard to increase the support we are offering and to ensure that our
counsellors work to the very highest of standards. We have now started
an advocacy service which is growing fast. It is only down to the
generosity of people like yourselves that we can continue to grow and
offer more services. This donation will help us to carry on working
appropriately and ethically.
